Because I believe God is logic.Don't get me wrong; I didn't say Logic is God, but that God is logic, or at the very least, logical.
Why do I believe this?
Logos.What's Logos? Don't quote me, but as I understand the ancient Greeks, Logos is the primevial and fundamental Reason for and Reason of this world. Meaning it's what purposes and governs this world. And according to John 1:1-2, Jesus is Logos.
So, to be even clearer, the reason I believe God is logic is because
Jesus.
would you like me to throw a little whirlwind in here? ;) just curious as to whether people might mean that God isn't logical in the sense that our usual logic (this isn't fair, i thought God was love, etc.) doesn't always follow what God does. so really this unlogicalness is just a sign that we don't fully understand Him??? idk just a thought :)

ReplyDeleteI think I'd agree ... but that still doesn't prove that God is logical. :(
Btw, I basically kind of double checked this little theory in my PEP class today ... and was told that John's understanding of "logos" wouldn't have checked out with the classical, Greek understanding of "logos." In other words, nope, this doesn't work. So don't go tell Pastor Cory this little argument ... 'cause I'll deny it. ;)
